Whether your institution is looking for help with grant administration, an opportunity for collaborative philanthropy, or wants to start a fund where activists in the field make the decisions, Tides can be there to ensure your organization makes a difference.

Independent private foundations, charitable organizations, and corporations committed to funding social change often need a cost-effective alternative to managing programs in-house. Tides Foundation offers our institutional clients a comprehensive set of services.

Tides offers several unique options to institutions interested in social change philanthropy. Funding collaboratives are an effective way to join with other institutions in supporting work that Tides has already thoroughly researched and evaluated.  An agency can decide what level of involvement is best for them. Tides can also facilitate an institution’s starting of a new collaborative, and help them find other institutional giving partners.

Tides’ Philanthropic Services staff can help other foundations with the grantmaking process.  We provide administrative and financial services such as quarterly fund reports, tracking of transactions for funds, investment of long-term funds, maintenance of regulatory compliance and more.  Larger institutions can more easily support grassroots organizing by letting Tides perform the necessary research and due diligence for smaller grants.  Partner grants are grants to organizations that Tides is already funding.  Since research and due diligence for these nonprofits are already taken care of, this is quite a convenient option to support positive social change.
