Tides Foundation Now Accepting Proposals for Work on Policy Issues Critical To U.S. Global Engagement

The new Global Security and Cooperation Initiative of the Connect US Fund will include $5-$6 million in grant making and operational activities, and focuses on three funding pools: Policy Action Grants, Bridge-Building Grants and Rapid Response Grants.

  • Policy Action Grants are large grants designed to support advocacy, broadly defined, in specific policy areas.
  • Bridge-Building Grants will support projects that foster connections between regional and local advocacy efforts, on the one hand, and work being done in the traditional foreign policy corridor of Washington and New York.
  • Rapid Response Grants are designed to enable organizations to respond to unique, time-sensitive, and unforeseen opportunities for policy change.  Rapid Response Grant proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis, and will be considered promptly, beginning July 2007.
